Stir-fry shiitake mushrooms
Shiitake mushrooms are a delicious and nutritious ingredient that can be used in a variety of dishes. They are especially well-suited for stir-frying, as their meaty texture and rich flavor hold up well to high-heat cooking.
Here is a simple recipe for stir-fried shiitake mushrooms:
Ingredients:
1 pound shiitake mushrooms, stems removed and sliced
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup chopped garlic
1/4 cup chopped ginger
1 green onion, chopped
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup water
Instructions:
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
Add the shiitake mushrooms, salt, and pepper and cook, stirring frequently, until the mushrooms are softened and browned, about 5 minutes.
Add the garlic, ginger, and green onion and cook for 1 minute more.
Add the soy sauce and water and cook for another minute, or until the sauce has thickened slightly.
Serve immediately with rice or noodles.
Tips:
For a spicier stir-fry, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a dash of Sriracha sauce.
If you don’t have soy sauce, you can use tamari or coconut aminos instead.
Add other vegetables to your stir-fry, such as bell peppers, onions, or carrots.
Serve your stir-fry with a side of rice or noodles.
Enjoy!
